Did you have any dealership woes/good experiences?  Where did you get it from?

We got the jeep from courtesy, and did not have any difficulty in the purchase. In fact, the dealership experience was one of the best I have had. I will not go back to tower ever again, and I live 5 min from there.
I have a question (don't crucify me on this, remember, new to the jeep world), how can I tell if the jeep is a sport s model, or an unlimited? As the mountain edition is available in both, and the dealer did not specify.

I'm not familiar regarding sports/unlimited but you can ask for the build sheet from the dealer. That will tell you all the other info you need, like axle sizes, paint codes, motor/tranny/tcase types. it's a nice little reference sheet to have around. They should print it off for you for free.

If it has 4 doors, it's an unlimited. If it has 2, it's not. 

If it doesn't say "Rubicon" or "Sahara" on it, then it's sport.

Generally speaking the Mountain Edition is based off the Sport "S" with the addition of some decals and 32 inch tires.

As w_squared said4 doors is Unlimited.  If you have fog lights and tow hooks (the metal things sticking out of the top of your front bumper) you have the Sport "S" package.

Thanks guys. So, another question you may be able to answer. The sport s can tow 2000 lb. What upgrades do I require to up the tow capacity to 3500 lb?

I'm not sure if you can upgrade a 2 door JK to that point. You'd really be pushing the envelope.

check what class hitch you have (if it has one, there should be a sticker) and you may need a larger rear axle, the build sheet will tell you what you currently have. but like w squared said, you should really check that out before you try to pull something that heavy.

You can do a lot of reading over at jeepforum.com as well, I've found they are pretty helpful.

funny, we just got our 2011 from Tower and it was a great experience......... guess it depends who you talk too

I am not going to tow much, if anything at all. I have a hitch basket, and I dont think the 200 lb tongue weight will cut the mustard. The basket weighs close to 50 lb, that doesnt leave a lot for storage weight. Used to own a Nitro (dont laugh), and that could to 5000 lb.
