I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

Gunna try and make it out to this one.  Is this going to be anymore difficult than the new year's day run?

I am sure that Heeps will adjust the trail choice and difficulty so that everyone there feels comfortable. As long as your rig meets the requirements, you shouldn't have any problems.

Sounds good.

Have a couple of newbie questions again.

15psi an issue for stock rims/tires?

which fluids and how much of each?

Thanks

On a 7.5 or 8 inch wide rim u can drop down to 8 psi safely

As for fluid. Gas is always a must. Top up in cockrane and if u feel the need to bring a Jerry can then do so
I always do but I only get 300 km a tank so I need it

Oil is good to bring incase anything leaks

For fluids, I generall bring engine oil, gear oil, washer fluid, and gas if the trip will require.

Based on what I've experience, the fluid I used most on the trails:

1. Brake Fluid
2. Steering Fluid
3. Gear Oil
4. Motor Oil.

Most importantly, carry a 2L jug filled with water.  If you need to drain your fluids on the trail, dump the water and drain into jug.  Or better yet, get your self a spill kit.

heeps are you wheeling the DODGE?   :o  that'd be sweet.

as for trail stuff. completely agree with Joel.  i bring at least 4L of drinking water, just in case.  and it can be used if bad things happen or for other fluid collection.
for tools, i bring basic hand tools, a good ratchet set, and everything to rebuild a D30 on the trail.

I also carry jumpers, garabe bags, a basic bottlejack and i think i have a spare brake line too.

best addition to my 'mandatory' stuff is an old, heavy moving blanket. its really thick and insulated.  that way if you have to crawl under a vehicle you can lay on the blanket. this is really nice, specifically in the winter when its cold and snowy.
