clean and lube the pivot.

correct!! most wipers stop wiping properly because the hinge becomes rusty.  Get a good penetrating oil and work the wiper hinge with lube.  This may take alot of hinge movement but eventually it will free up and your wipers will be like new.

Seriously?? Is this a real post? Cmon!  Take 5 minutes and look at the arms and figure it out...what next a 5 page post on what the best wiper blades are?
If that's the case search google.

Maybe you can hold everyones hand when they are unsure how to change a tire or what the beat washer fluid is. Get a clue and use google, there is a reason they make billions of dollars. The question was answered in the first page, if this was pirate the flaming would have started two posts after that. Get a clue and stop wasting everyones time.

Who knew such a simple question would cause so much heated conversation!

I would have to say that you are wasting your own time by answer this post! No one is holding a gun to your head to read it, press the reply button, type several dozen words, post it and then keep checking it, etc.  The only person you have to be mad at is yourself.

On another note, thanks for the entertainment, its like watching an episode of some lame show that throws in a grumpy illogical old man for comedic relief when they don't have any other good material.

My comments werent meant to offend or start a gongshow hate post...but seriously the post had a final answer 2 pages ago. Firsttimer, i know you have some relatively simple questions, and that is par for the course for any new jeeper. Im often the first to offer a logical answer, or a helping hand.  If you need your hand held on everything from valve stem caps to radiator caps, then be prepared to get the same responses. And yes i do have to keep reading, i may just have the tech answer you are looking for.  Sorry for the confusion.

I have to agree with Swampsinger. The bacon not only tastes good, but if the rendered fat is left to cool, one could slather it on said rusty springs, which in turn will temporarily lube them, as well as make them smell good!

In fact, I think im gonna try that with my squeaky heater motor. When i turn that on, Id rather not hear the squeal, and the smell of bacon sure beats out wet carpet!
I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

What you normally say when Shawn shows up with bacon and lube for you. "Si papito, por favor!"
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

First timer, the best hundred or so dollars you'll ever spend on each vehicle you ever buy and own is to order the proper shop manual (not owners manual). Don't get Chilton or Hanyes (proper name optional), but get the specific manual from your jeep dealer or through the mail.

Internet can be brutal sometimes. Shop manual is well worth it in so many ways.

I dunno, I used to feel the same way (manuals are great for my other vehicles), however the Jeep manual has been somewhat disappointing so far....  :(
(I was working on the cam angle sensor and it wasn't listed anywhere in the index, so I had to just flip through the book until I found it)
