The hole " respect is earned not given " bugs me. I'm new to this forum (march/2011). but I'm not new to wheel n. I've been going to Waiparous and Mcclean since i was a kid I'm 38 now. I'm the newb here, but what does any one know of me or my experience. If I just bought a Jeep, I might have some "newb" questions. This forum is huge, it could take me along time to sift through the years of know how to get my answer. So I would probable ask my newb question right away. Sharing info is why I'm on CAJ. I have a post about splicing my ABS/ESP wires. I didn't know i could do it untill some one on a forum told me i could. So I passed it along.
I haven't had any disrespect or bad replies. I haven't had any replies. LOL. I would like to think we are all ON CAJ to make newb friends that we might meet on the trail and say HI to and maybe lend a hand if needed.

If any 'new' person here would just try searching FIRST before posting a question that has been asked a thousand times, than maybe respect would be given.

Google is amazing. If i google my question and add a + sign with Calgary Jeep following it, you will probably find the most commonly answered questions on this site.

Now after having done that and exhausted other google possibilities than one could ask the question here with a preamble like this:
Hi all, i'm new. i did search. i searched here, i searched google and i am still not satisfied with the info i found. i am hoping someone here could help me out OR direct me to a resource that will help me.
Great site by the way.
Thanks.

i would imagine the experience would be better. ;)

And for you as an example, please click this link ::)

What does that have to do with anything being discussed here? As both club and forum members it is our responsibility to maintain the integrity of this site.

That means if we see an idiot telling people to body lift their YJ with hockey pucks, it is our responsibility to dispell that type of crap so that other members on this board dont heed poor advice.

This is a club board that allows public use. It is a privilege to participate here. Not a right. That means people are expected to respect the commutity and what it stands for.

If you dont agree with the general ideals of the members here, then move on to another board that better suits you. Its that simple.

This is the internet. There's a site to suite everyone out there somewhere.

Reading your statement one would assume that you are saying its perfectly acceptable for anyone to come in here and act however they please. If that isnt to the liking of the long time board, and club members, well, we should just ignore those threads and let them continue.

Also, it really doesnt matter what anyone here thinks about earning respect. The fact will always remain that no matter the social situation, respect is always earned. Job, club, forum, school, sports team, competition, volunteering, etc etc.

Wether or not some of you care for that, is completely irrelevant.

Shouldn't we all be more concerned about trail rides after the year 2013 on crown land .

this is always a concern. 2013 is far away though. we never know what we might lose and gain in a summer.

that may be true but if nobody has a voice in the early stages of government thought or planning we may be out of luck   :(

10 - 4. I was at the last meeting, first timer. I was surprised at the number of real members, a bit low for the size of this city and area. I'm not sure when the club was established, but I'm sure it was awhile ago.  There are a few steps to be taken to join. For good reasons. My next step is to show up for a CJA rail ride. One that I have heard of and have wanted to be apart of for along time. The after May long clean up of  Mc lean. I always look forward to May long and no matter where I go, I make sure our camp site is clean before we leave. Any way, the clean up means a lot to me. So its time to get involved, meet some friends and give jeep n a good name.
The trail clean up of Mc lean is on sunday after the long weekend and as long as I don't have to work that day I'll be there !
