What does that have to do with anything being discussed here? As both club and forum members it is our responsibility to maintain the integrity of this site.

That means if we see an idiot telling people to body lift their YJ with hockey pucks, it is our responsibility to dispell that type of crap so that other members on this board dont heed poor advice.

This is a club board that allows public use. It is a privilege to participate here. Not a right. That means people are expected to respect the commutity and what it stands for.

If you dont agree with the general ideals of the members here, then move on to another board that better suits you. Its that simple.

This is the internet. There's a site to suite everyone out there somewhere.

Reading your statement one would assume that you are saying its perfectly acceptable for anyone to come in here and act however they please. If that isnt to the liking of the long time board, and club members, well, we should just ignore those threads and let them continue.

Also, it really doesnt matter what anyone here thinks about earning respect. The fact will always remain that no matter the social situation, respect is always earned. Job, club, forum, school, sports team, competition, volunteering, etc etc.

Wether or not some of you care for that, is completely irrelevant.





Why the opposition to hockey puck body lifts? I have had one on my Tj for a couple of years now and no problems...sure we've all heard the "some guy I knew lifted his full size 70's ford with 4 hockey pucks stacked up and they cracked and failed so they suck" story (flexy frames and body lifts do not play well together in general), but on a Jeep with a more rigid frame I have heard many say they work fine for many years, in fact the only broken body lift I have ever seen was a commercially produced product from a major brand. Of all the examples you could give of "bad advice" I can't personnally see why this is a major worry.  I am not trying to start a debate, but I am honestly interested to hear what your concerns with Hockey puck BL's are.  As an experiment, I put approx. 10,000lb load onto a single hockey puck and left it like that for over a week. It looked exactlyu the same as before.

so, after you've spent say, 15$ on hockey pucks, 60$ on new grade 8 hardware and figured out a way to drop your radiator a few inches, why not just spend the extra 50$ on a whole kit that includes that stuff as well as other things that are pretty improtant, like steering adjustments, tcase linkage adjustments and a fuel filler extension?  is that not worth the 35$ you'd save????

now you're defending the hockey puck body lift? you say you're not starting a debate, but every time you post something its a debate. hockey pucks are designed for hockey. ive personally shattered plenty of pucks playing hockey, and you figure its ok to use them as a body lift? what Bnine said is 100% correct. for those of us that know the difference between right and wrong, we do our best to teach others the same. sometimes it may not come out as smoothly as we'd like. but the proper idea is put forth. a lot of this info is for safety reasons. if you drive your jeep on the street or off road then it should be 100% safe for you, your passengers and other vehicles around you. good enough for you isnt good enough for everyone else.

Oh and lowering the rad is easy, there's this awesome technology available called drilling some new holes in the correct spots on the side mounting flanges of the rad.works great.

Mel from 4 wheeler had a puck body lift on her 4 banger YJ at the clean up in about 06. She was riding on less then half her body mounts because all the pucks had cracked and fallen out.

Most people have never witnessed anyone blowing their own head off while cleaning a gun but we all know it has happened. Should we all look down rifle barrels now when we clean our guns?

I'm with Bnine on this one and %100 agree with him
I dint understand why someone would want to rune there rig by putting in a BL you don't gain any ground clearance all u do is  throw ur rigs  center of gravity out to lunch ::)    wait i got it BL's make ur rig more flexy and give u room to run bigger tires I think aim going to put one on my ZJ  ::)    
And one more think why would you want your rad lower so ya can hit it off crap and crack it I would rather have my rad up and out of the way not hangin out below the body just waiting for a rock/anything for that matter to hit it/ possible go right throw my rad as I'm driving down the hwy/ in the city.
Hockey pucks are for  hockey not for lifting ur friggin rig
