Door lights still on with fuse pulled
« on: May 11, 2011, 08:20:36 PM »
So...was thinking of pulling the doors off, and went to pull the door light switch defeat fuse.

The fuse was already pulled :/

Putting a 10amp in, and/or removing the 10amp fuse, doesn't seem to change how the lights work.  If a door is open, the lights are on.

For now I'm thinking I'll just pull the bulbs, eventually I guess I'll install a switch or something.

Anyone have any ideas?  2003 Rubicon.

Are you sure you have the correct fuze?  If you have the correct fuze...and it doesn't affect anything...somebody's been messin' with the wiring.

Why do you Wrangler guys need so much help?

LMAO!
If you are looking for a cheap hobby that will get you out into the woods, collect rocks or bird watch........don't buy a Jeep.

I pulled fuse 4 last night (2003) (took the doors off last night) worked great for me. The only thing I noticed was the head light chime seems to be grouped so I really have to keep in mind to turn off the driving lights.

Or ya could sell the Wrangler, and get yourself into an XJ!

No need to pull fuses or spend money on harnesses, as our doors dont come off! Thats what windows are for!
I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

Tj's get the girls

Yeah they seem to attract girls alright... probably 90% of the TJ drivers I saw out today were female...

Yep...pretty sure.

I'm a little worried about the wiring now.  Where are my interior lights getting power from, and is it fused?  Guess I'll pull the fuse box out and trace the wires back, see where the proper wires go....then pull the passenger speaker cover and see what's powering the light.  :-\

Thanks for checking some other TJs guys, I was a little confused when reading the fuse needed to be pulled, and mine wasn't in there to begin with.

Also, you XJ guys are just jealous you can't go topless!  :D

I do have a set of those little spring clips made to hold the button in while the doors are off if you want them.....  My fuse pull works, so i don't need them... let me know... 8)

Maybe not... but camping, we are warm and dry, and when you are soaking wet and cold because your tent leaked, we have plenty of room for your gf to come warm up.  ;D
And the next time you do a swap, you know you will be calling on us to help you get new diffs picked up.  8)

If you want to take a drive to the SW, feel free to swing by (PM for address if interested) and we can compare the two 2003s side by side and see if there is something up with your fuse panel. But as far as I can tell our panels should be identical. As a curtesy I will snap a picture tonight and post it for you.
