I don't think it would be Asians from Surrey... That's more Richmond. Surrey the East Indians live with their family's until they get married and there can be 20 people in a household sometimes. A lot of these kids are the ones driving the Lambo, Horsies, Vipers, Corvettes, and Escalades pimped the F out, thinking they are top shiet. Sure, they can pick up a girl with the car, but they can't take them back to their pad unless she's a total exhibitionist. Oh wait... we are talking Surrey girls. Enough said.

Being from Surrey there is a fairly high likelihood they are of an ethnic background, but is that any reason to turn this into a racial discussion?  There is enough of that in the comments on the news page.  There could have been white kids too, I don't believe the article specified.  Besides, it's really no different then what we have here, maybe not lambo's and Austin martins, but we have our fair share of hillbilly white kids flying up and down Deerfoot in their $60k+ trucks or BMW's or Benz'... Just sayin'.  Only reason it's gotten any media attention is because there were 13 of them.

I just wish people would grow a pair and call it what it is.  Seriously, the whole situation in Vancouver is getting out of hand, people from mainland china buying everything in site.  Spoiled ASIAN brats running around as if they owned everything, showing no respect for other.  Lived/work in Vancouver for three years, and couldn't stand the attitude of these spoiled rich kids.   Lived/work in montreal with just as much cash flowing around, and didn't see this garbage attitude from rich kids.

Sorry for the rant, I don't mean to keep you from helping some poor immigrant figure out how to bend the next set of laws to accommodate their needs.

The funny thing is that they are only alleged to have been racing, no police officer witnessed them. They got ticketed, plan to fight them (this is their legal right) and will get their parents cars back (apparently 11 out of 13 were registered to someone other than the driver).

Who cares what their parents bought themselves and let their kids drive. I can guarantee that anyone here who had access to a supercar would not be putting around doing the limit. I sure as hell wouldn't be.

From what I saw on the RCMP's explanation, they were limited in what they felt they could make stick because no police officers actually witnessed it.

On the plus side, the RCMP is looking at a course of action that will allow the ones that had graduated licenses to have those licenses pulled. Of course, they'll probably just drive without them.

Yes, that was not correct of me to state it like that.  My point was not to pass on any further discrimination, rather to point out that it doesn't matter where you go, there are going to be rich kids (or poor kids) doing stupid things in vehicles.  If I was 18 and had a lambo, I would probably be in a heap of trouble.

I've driven on the Autobahn and there is no issue with unlimited speeds there, yes the Autobahn is alittle smoother than our highways, but the QE II is pretty close.  I say that we have unlimited speed between Calgary and Edmonton for those of us with the need and the equipment for speed.  It's pretty cool when you pass a Police car at 165 kph and they don't blink and cruise at 195 kph because that's all it will do - rental diesel Opel.  Our speed laws have long been out of date with current capabilities of our cars, we should be travelling at the speeds the Europeans are.
