Need all the knowledge I can get.
« on: September 12, 2014, 07:34:25 PM »
I have a 1998 Cherokee sport. Inline6 4.0l 5 speed, damaged the o2 sensor wiring, have since replaced the wiring but now the truck will stall randomly and run rough. But at high rpm it runs mint, no temp issues.
The tps, throttle body, and 02's have all be replaced. Any help would be hugely helpful. Cheers.

Are you 100% certain the wiring was repaired properly and each wire connects to proper spot on connector?

When repairing the 02 sensor wiring were the wires soldered together?

even soldered... it created different resistances and fucks the readings...

I had to change my whole harness...

From what I've read on the GM LS motors and I assume on others as well,  the 02's gather an air sample from within the wires and use that as a baseline (kinda sort of) and soldering actually screws up the sample, the proper way to splice the wires is to use a crimp and seal everything in heat shrink. At least thats the way I understood it.

Any codes?
Sometimes the ECM needs to be reset so that it can relearn its baseline parameters.
Any exhaust leaks before the O2?
