rush trip we went down thru idaho,spokane and by time got to bend oregan it was 41c so headed to eugene (coast) down california coast (18c) then back inland connecting at redding calif heading se , entered at loon lake and exited lake tahoe, drive back was up through reno to montana for change of scenary and cooler ...
3 days there, 3 days on trail (half that is camping and party) and 3 days back ..
bolting armour on our jeeps is good idea but the rubicon's "gotcha" is driver fatigue, it never lets up and just clawed at us all the way , from loon lake to rubicon springs it was 14+ hours of technical with not much of a break.
never took the strap but damage included: rear spring packs crack, rear shock bushings trying to exit, rear D44 weaping at cover, front D30 bolts ground off, front ubolts bend back/stretched, front bumper bent, skid dented - muffler dented - tank skid dented, small tear at body mount, blew motor mount rubber on cadillac hill
the rocks just keep coming, picking a line was usually doable but few spots there were just so many watermellon/pumpkin/couch sized rocks for 100's of feet it was challenging ...
maybe cause i was the only canuck that made it down for this run I made jamboree's offical 'sales' video which doesnt show the carnage some suffered, several came out on straps, one rumored to be failed detroit ...
