Alternator Bearings...
« on: November 23, 2020, 05:39:54 PM »
Not  Jeep but my 2011 Ram 1500 5.7 L Hemi.

Water pump bearing went spraying coolant all over the alternator.

I had the water pump replaced but not the alterator bearing is screaming...probably front bearing is now contaminated by the coolant.

Where can I get the bearing(s) done ?

I can remove /. re-install the alternator myself.

Thanks.

I am sure you would simply want to do a rebuilt alternator with your core as exchange. The days of what you suggest are nearing the end as it is hard to locate part numbers for seals/bearings etc. What about diodes, internal regulator etc if the alternator was apart? One used to be able to walk in to dealers and say "I would like a diode kit and front bearing for an alternator ............." Not anymore.
