I should have kept the box. Cost like $15 bucks

Its a blue module that plugs into the flasher socket.

Dava

Is this flasher a 5 pin????

I've had a partsman looking for a frequency doubling disabled flasher for 3 months and according to the aftermarket manufacturers they don't make one nor are they planning to make one

I had that exact wireup, and the signals would flash at a normal rate but the on dash indicator would be lit when the lights were on.

Perhaps my blinker was farked before, I had the simple "jumper" mod done, till I read that it could start a fire, so I pulled it out. And started looking for a micro-relay.

I'm at a loss now. I'll try to re-solder and see if my blinker truly is hooped.

Otherwise, I'm off for the weeekend.

Thanks for your help Steve!

Yes, but no more than a bulb does.

But why add the heat and load if you don't have to :D

Plus if Chris did that I wouldn't get to make really long posts and get my post count up

So, Rookie's wiring works. In fact it works just like I had it.

The dash arrows still stay lit, except when flashing normally during blinker duty.

The culprit, two-wire led's on the front. Thats why, stock harness is three-wire. So there is more "voltage sense" stuff going on than what the relay bypasses. Anytime you see me and want to know wtf I am talking about, just ask, me show.

Cheers
Chris

PS Thanks to Rookie for stopping by and talking about an hour or so to figure this all out.

Try wiring your front LED's into the stock side marker harness, it should be a two wire harness instead of three wire.

This is true, the side marker is a two wire harness. Though, I'm saving the side marker for something special!

I could "make" my own three wire front led, and that would entail buying a bunch of yellow led's and making my own circuit board, thus fooling the wiring gods into thinking there is a two filament bulb attached. But that would entail quite a bit of work+time+money. Of which, I'm short on all three.

Wire your front turn signals and your "special" side markers to the same existing side marker harness. The only downside I see is the front a side signals will flash together instead of alternating.

Seen the new "Jeep Style" surface mount rear leds?

http://led-r-us.com/sttlights.shtml

Purty, pricey, stock looking goodness. Now with the ability to not melt kicked up snow in the winter!
