New Tire Balancer
« on: October 23, 2007, 02:19:17 PM »
My old one decided that it was time to retire so I had to get a new one.  I am excited to put some big tires on it.  It will handle up to 42" tires and if the static unbalance is too great it will tell you the degrees to turn the tire on the wheel for optimum balance.  Its wizzzzzy!!  We dont deal with large tires all the time so if anyone have any large boots they want balanced(37+) the first time will be free.  I just want to try it out and I have the patience of a two year old.

I meant that the first person in will be free, not the first time free for everyone.(I like my work, but not enough to do it for free  )   Just want to test the machine with someone that I can get some feedback from.  If interested PM me.

It's a shop

You guys using the BB's try using airsoft pellets.  Worked good on my Bias TSL's and they wont rust because they are plastic.

Canadian tire sells them.  They are the plastic pellets that those co2 powered guns shoot.  Go to the counter that sells the guns and just ask for air soft ammunition(they will be locked in a cabinet)To know how much weight to put in you tire check out this website.

My 36" TSL's were so bad that they gave me death wobble at about 80kph and above.  I put 10 oz. of these pellets in my tires and most of my vibes went away, I was left with only a minor vibe @ 90 & 115kph, which was a significant improvement considering I could not drive above 80 kph before.

I used the metal pellets and after 2 years they look the same as the day I put them in, no rust at all. I have heard of the airsoft turning to powder though......

I bought mine at Walmart with a small food scale for under $20.
