Who has suffered damage due to the cold?

Red ZJ, heater and lights decided not to work tuesday morning. i almost died.  something is creakin in teh rear too
black ZJ, did not plug it in, start it or do anything till tuesday night. -40, no plug in, kicks over, heats up ran wicked.   hehe, ZJs

Can't plug in at work, and watching the oil pressure gauge just sit there until the "Check Guages" light comes on makes a guys butt pucker a bit... dumped a can of engine oil treatment in try and slick things up, much better now.

The '98 Tj is doin pretty good, other than the stiff gearbox, and second gear is iffy at times.    Put synthetic in everything but the motor the other day. Shifting is so much easier now, no matter how cold it is, and second is smooth as silk as well.

well well...I purchased my jeep in November...had it a week and well due to the cold and the city using rocks for the road i got my windshield cracked...There should be a voucher that you get everytime you drive on deer foot for a new windshield.  Also last week another rock decided to take out my headlight....I guess me and deerfoot just don't work.  Can't wait for summer...ahhhhhhhhhhh

I think over 50% of the jeeps in the club have busted windshield, it is just part of jeep ownership. My spiderweb of a windshield is due for a replacement but I am trying to Wait until spring.

the whole plastic broke around my gear shift when it was that cold.  so did my glasses now they have nerdy white tape in the middle.

anyway, our liberty does it at about -10 or colder most of the time.  my gmc van did it yesterday but i never plug it in.  i'm not convinced it is the starter or if it is, that it is the gears crunching.  the avenger went 8 years doing this every wintery start - even if it was just sitting a few hours in the day it would do it again.  never a starter issue.

the sound was more like a vibration as well.  i remember on really cold days like this week, the avenger would make the noise for 30 seconds or more after starting, revving would make it louder but never sounded faster.  eventually i ignored it like i do now.

If you mean the screechy/grindy noise on the Liberty in the cold, that's the power steering pump.
