Why does your Jeep say Toyota on it?

i do but lately just been pretty busy.
a new computer can be $600 without monitor or $850 with monitor and build fee (approx).

honestly though, if the p2 lasted you this long (10+ years), go here and get this...

or this if you are not quick enough.

they usually sell quick there.  can probably call and reserve.  just grab it, take it home, plug it in and surf away.

If all you want is something a little more modern than a PII computer ... I maybe able to hook you up.  I think I have enough stuff laying around in the basement to put together something thats going to be at least a PIII.  You're more than welcome to it ... just let me know and I'll see what I can dig up.

I hate to be the token Linux guy, but switching from Windows can make some serious performance difference in older hardware.

If you want to investigate Linux, let me know.  I can give some pointers.

I guess I could be considered a pretty hard core unix user... I work with Linux & Solaris all day.  As much as I love Linux I don't think I'd recommend it for someone who isn't very computer literate.  You are right that it's a far superiour OS in many ways but for the avg guy who just wants his email and a browser its not the easiest solution IMHO.
