Champion winches(which mounting plate for TJ)
« on: May 17, 2008, 04:35:22 PM »
My brother bought a Champion winch from Costco and it only came with a cradle mount, so I was wondering what winch plates will work for mounting on a TJ? Will a Warn plate work for these winches? Thanks.

If you're looking for a winch plate for a jeep, Champion also offers these if you call them directley. They are less expensive than the warn plates. But they may be made of slightly lower guage steel plate.

No...you can't...as stated, the winch only came with a cradle mount for use in a reciever hitch.

I just installed mine this weekend and used the cradle mount ( modified of course).  I cut the receiver hitch off and notched the plate to fit over my bumper. Removed the handles and welded it on. I can still remove the winch if I need.
