Anything left on it? Was busy this weekend but I'll grab the rear end if it's still there.

WTF, you already HAVE a D44a! I'm a working man, so there's no way I could get there this morning. :D

Thanks for the heads-up cLAY, the Trac-Lok D44a is now out of the 5.9 and awaiting installation under my ZJ! It was a heroic one- man wrenching effort but I got it out with 5 minutes to spare before the place closed. :D

Sadly, the driveshaft was missing, so I'm on the hunt for one that's the correct length. I hear the 5.9 D44a used a larger u-joint than the 5.2 so it may take a little work to find the right shaft and joint.

Final bill with core charge ($15) and GST was $118.94. I do indeed plan to clean it up and truss it before it gets bolted in. Hopefully that'll happen before winter, haha!

BTW, you can look up PnP prices on their site, though front axles are listed under "axle" and rear axles are listed under "rear end" :D

"Trussing" is when you weld a section of metal across the axle tubes to strengthen the unit via reducing tube flex under load. Here's a picture of an truss on the particular axle we were discussing.

Speaking of trusses, does anyone know what Jay generally charges for a truss job? I can get an MVC truss out of the States for $150 but I'd rather support a local guy if his prices are comparable.

better question is how are you gonna weld the aluminum centre section to the cast iron axle tubes?

not sure, but doesnt' the one in the U.S. bolt to the housing and then weld to the tubes?

just curious for when i FINALLY sell my dodge and get me a 5.9er ;)
