Oct. 1-2 Camping / bridge work in Waiparous
« on: September 23, 2011, 05:27:36 PM »
We need some help to remove the deck from the bridge on the 1-2 of October.
The removal of the steel and abutments may have to wait due to fish issues but Blair is working on that.  He needs Fed Gov. approval for the fish issue.

The bridge deck will need to be disassembled and moved to the storage yard in the ghost.

We will need:
Generators, sawzalls,  pry bars,  hammers, drills with bits to try to remove screws, gas powered pressure sprayer, trucks and trailers to transport the wood.  If we could get a few hydraulic jacks then maybe we could lift the steel part of the bridge back up the support it to be moved later.  Right now they just don’t want us working or dragging things thorough the creek as it is spawning season for one type of fish.

Wear your boots, gloves, PPE

After getting so much fresh air it is also recommended to get some R&R time at camp afterwards  ;D

TRAIL PROJECT WEEKEND.

Same as Frenchy Posted + we need trucks and trailers. This should be a lot of fun. I am planing to Camp for the weekend.

The CJA is leading a Trial project in the Ghost FLUZ. October 1st and 2nd .
The bridge on Meadow Creek trail is damages and we are going to disassemble the bridge deck to allow us to work on relocating the bridge to a new location to be reinstalled next year.  This will be labour intensive. We need crews to disassemble the deck and crew to transport lumber to a storage area.  Those working on the project should ware proper personal perfective equipment.
Tools needed: Prey bars, drills with screwdriver bits, saws-alls, and generators.  Who has what?
We also need several trucks or 4x4 off road trailers to transport the lumber.  What can you bring to help?
Some of us plan on camping for the weekend to work on this. Camping info and meeting location will be posted later in the week.

Cheers,
Blair

We are camping at the Waiparous group camp (old air strip).   It is past the campground on the west side of the road.  Other campgrounds are on the left.

Meet there and if we are not there, we will be at the Meadow Creek bridge.

Andy - can you and I arrange for me to pick up your gen?  I have sawzall, hammer drill etc.  that I will bring.  Going out Friday after work.

Just making arrangemants with kevin to pick up mine as I am away this weekend. I think mine is 1500 watts continous and 1800 surge or 1800 continous. I will check tonight.
Most hammerdrills are right around 6 amps and some of the better sawzalls are up to 13 amps. So mine will run two drills or one sawzall.
